Safety & Security
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Protect Your Account
- Use a strong, unique password.
- Never share your password or authentication code.
- Log out when using a shared or public computer.
- Do not save passwords on computers that other people can access.
2. Protect Learner Information
Learner records are sensitive school information. Do not photograph, copy, download, forward, post or otherwise distribute learner information unless you are authorized to do so for a legitimate school purpose.
3. Watch for Suspicious Activity
Be cautious of unexpected login requests, messages asking for passwords or codes, unusual links, or requests for confidential learner information. When in doubt, contact the school using an official contact channel.
4. Report Security Problems
Report suspected account compromise, unauthorized access, exposed learner information, suspicious messages, or other security problems to Mwingo Academy as soon as possible. Do not attempt to exploit a security weakness or access information that does not belong to you.
5. Responsible Use
Users must not attempt to bypass security controls, test attacks against the live system without permission, upload malicious files, interfere with service availability, impersonate another user, or deliberately access restricted information.
6. Authentication Codes
If the portal sends a one-time authentication code, treat it as confidential and use it only for your own authorized login. The current parent verification process may be updated as additional security controls are introduced.
7. Shared Devices
When using a school, family or public device, close the browser session after use and ensure that another person cannot continue using your authenticated session.
8. Children and Learners
Parents, guardians, staff and other authorized adults should take particular care when handling learner information. Learners should be guided to use school technology responsibly and should report suspicious activity to a trusted adult or school staff member.
9. Security Does Not Mean Zero Risk
The school uses reasonable security measures, but no online system is completely immune from technical failures, service outages or attacks. Users also play an important role in keeping information safe.
10. Emergency or Safeguarding Concerns
For an immediate safety or safeguarding concern, use the school's established emergency or safeguarding reporting channels rather than relying solely on the website.
11. Updates
Security guidance may be updated when the portal or school procedures change. Users should review this page periodically.
